THREE PROGRAMS ON THE CIVIL WAR

Sunday, March 2, 2008 – 2:30 p.m.
Academy Hall, 785 Old Main Street, Rocky Hill

THE LETTERS HOME OF PRIVATE BROWN
Mr. John Proctor will read letters written home by Private Henry Brown, a Civil War soldier from Thompson, Connecticut.  Private Brown sent 50 letters describing life in battle and at other times.  Mr. Proctor acts as Private Brown’s father, responding to the letters.


Sunday, March 16, 2008 – 2:30 p.m.
Academy Hall, 785 Old Main Street, Rocky Hill

THE GETTYSBURG ADDRESS
Mr. Patrick McKiernan will present Abraham Lincoln:  Master of Political Discourse in the Gettysburg Address.  His talk will include background information on the Battle of Gettysburg.

Both presenters are members of the Shoreline Civil War Discussion Group and are enthusiastic Civil War researchers.


Sunday, March 30, 2008 – 2:30 p.m.
Academy Hall, 785 Old Main Street, Rocky Hill

THE 14TH CONNECTICUT REGIMENT IN THE CIVIL WAR
Life-long Civil War researcher Col. Alex Hasychak presents a talk on the involvement of our own 14th Regiment in the war between the states.

Admission is free; the public is invited.  For more information, contact the Society at 860.563.6704.
